Community guidelines
The house rules, in full. Last updated 27 October 2026.
Short version: be kind, be witty, be honest. No abuse, no doxxing, no hate, nothing illegal. Members must be 18 or over.
The spirit of the place
- Write about the topic. Opinions, jokes, definitions and stories are all welcome.
- Disagree with ideas, not people. Queue politely — this is still the internet.
- One person, one account. Don't pretend to be someone else, and don't vote with extra accounts.
- Hide spoilers with
||spoiler||.
Not allowed
We remove these, and may delete the account that posted them:
- Illegal content of any kind — including terrorism, child sexual abuse material, threats to kill or harm, fraud and scams, selling illegal goods, and sharing intimate images without consent. Where the law requires it, we report it.
- Harassment and abuse — targeting a person, pile-ons, threats, or encouraging others to harass someone.
- Hate — attacking people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Doxxing — posting someone's private information: home address, phone number, workplace, private photos, or anything that identifies a private person against their wishes.
- Pornography and sexual content, including links to it.
- Content that promotes or encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. Talking about your experiences or pointing people to help is fine; encouraging or instructing is not.
- Violence — graphic violence, or content glorifying it.
- Dangerous stunts and challenges likely to get someone hurt.
- Untrue, damaging claims about real people presented as fact.
- Other people's work copied without permission. Short quotes with credit are fine.
- Spam — advertising, repeated posts, link farming, or automated posting.
- Impersonation of another member, a moderator, or a real person or organisation.
Images
You can paste a link to an image. It is shown behind a show image button, never automatically. The rules above apply to anything you link to.
How moderation works
- Anyone can report an entry with the ⚑ button. Reports go to our moderators, who review them as soon as they can.
- Moderators can edit or remove entries and topics that break these guidelines or the terms. Removed entries can be restored for 30 days, then they are gone for good.
- For serious or repeated breaches, we may delete an account.
- We may remove an account we believe belongs to someone under 18.
Reporting, complaints and appeals
To report something, use ⚑ on the entry, or the contact form for anything else (for example a whole topic, or a problem that is not a single entry).
If you think we got a decision wrong — we removed your entry, or left up something that should go — tell us through the contact form. A person looks at every complaint, and we will tell you the outcome if you leave a way to reach you.
